About the Program

The SBIF Asha Scholarship Program 2024 is one of India's largest merit-based scholarship schemes. It is under the education vertical of SBI Foundation: Integrated Learning Mission. This scholarship program will provide financial support to meritorious students from low-income families in India, ensuring continuity of their education. This scheme is open to students studying in Class 6 to 12 and pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate courses from the top 100 NIRF universities/colleges and IITs or MBA/PGDM courses from IIMs.

The chosen candidates will receive a scholarship amount up to INR 7.5 lakh towards their education expenses. SBI Foundation is the CSR arm of the State Bank of India. 

The main objective of this scholarship program is to provide economic assistance to students belonging to financially weaker families across India to ensure the continuity of their education.  
This program provides students studying in classes 6 to 12 with the opportunity to gain a scholarship of INR 10,000 for one year.  
The main aim of the SBI Asha Scholarship Program is to provide economic assistance to deserving students from low-income families who have demonstrated academic distinction. SBI gave a great amount of importance to carrying out the plan to join the deprived people.

Eligibility Criteria For National Merit Scholarship

The SBI Asha Scholarship Program 2024 recruits a thorough selection process to choose the most worthy candidates. This procedure takes into account academic achievements and economic circumstances. This process is divided into various stages, each of which serves a certain purpose:

Initial Shortlisting 

The first step in the selection process is the initial shortlisting of candidates. This step is done by evaluating the candidate's eligibility criteria. To be qualified for this scholarship, candidates must meet specific requirements, such as minimum academic performance standards and economic need. Those who pass this stage will move to the next stage.

Document Verification

Once candidates are selected, their documents are subjected to an accurate verification process. This stage is conducted to ensure the validity of the information provided in their candidates.

Personal Interview

After the documents are verified, the selected candidates are called to participate in a personal interview. During the interview, candidates have the chance to discuss their academic achievements, aspirations, and financial circumstances.

SBI ASHA SCHOLARSHIP FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS 
 

Eligibility

  • Applicants must be studying in Class 6 to 12 in the current academic year.
  • Students should have secured 75% or above in their previous academic year.
  • Gross annual family income not more than INR 3,00,000.
  • For Indian Nationals 
     

Important note:

  • 50% of the slots are reserved for female applicants.
  • Preference to SC/ST applicants.
  • Benefits: INR 15,000 will be given to each selected student.

 

SBI ASHA SCHOLARSHIP FOR UG STUDENTS 
 

Eligibility

  • The scheme is available for students pursuing undergraduate studies from any recognized Indian universities/ colleges that features among the top 100 in the latest NIRF rankings.
  • Students should have scored 75% or above in the previous academic year.
  • The family annual income must not exceed INR 6,00,000.

Important note:

  • Preference to students whose family income is less than INR 3,00,000.
  • 50% of the total slots are reserved for female applicants.
  • Preference shall be given to SC/ST applicants.
  • Benefits: The selected students can get up to INR 50,000.

SBI Asha Scholarship for PG Students 
 

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a postgraduate student from one of the premier universities/colleges in India.
  • The list of premier universities/ colleges will be considered as per the NIRF Top 100 rankings.
  • Students must have secured 75% or above in their previous academic year.
  • The gross annual family income must not exceed INR 6,00,000. 
     

Important note:

  • Preference to students whose family incomes are below INR 3,00,000.
  • 50% of slots are reserved for female applicants.
  • Preference to SC/ST applicants.
  • Benefits: The selected students can receive up to INR 70,000.

SBIF Asha Scholarship for IIT Students 
 

Eligibility

  • The students pursuing undergraduate courses from any Indian Institute of Technology can apply.
  • Students must have scored 75% or above marks in the last academic year.
  • The family annual income should be less than or equal to INR 6,00,000. 
     

Important note:

  • Preference will be given to students having less than INR 3,00,000 as family income.
  • There are 50% reservations for female candidates.
  • First preference to SC/ST applicants
  • Benefits: Up to INR 2,00,000.

SBI ASHA SCHOLARSHIP FOR IIM STUDENTS 
 

Eligibility

  • The scheme shall be available for students pursuing MBA/PGDM courses from any Indian Institute of Management (IIM) within India.
  • Students who have scored 75% or above in the previous academic year.
  • The gross annual family income not exceeding INR 6,00,000. 
     

Important note:

  • Priority to student with family income below INR 3,00,000.
  • 50% of slots are reserved for female applicants.
  • SC/ST applicants: Yes, preference will be given
  • Benefits: The scheme selected students can receive an amount up to INR 7,50,000.

Document Required For National Merit Scholarship

Documents required to apply for the scholarship are mentioned below:

  • Student’s last year’s mark sheet.
  • Original identity proof such as voter ID, Aadhar card, driving license or PAN card.
  • Admission proof of current academic year such as admission letter, fee receipt, bonafide certificate, and identity card.
  • Bank account details of the candidate or parent.
  • Income verification which can be Form 16A/income certificate from the government authority/salary slips
